c6414t BOOT RELATED QUESTIONS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6416T

Hi DSP Champs!

At present I have been working with Texas Instruments DSP processor TMS320C6416T  .In our board the processor is connected with SRAM and PROM(for booting purpose). In order to program the processor I need to use the Code Composer Studio.

While going through the software I am having number of doubts like:-

1.The DSP processor will be booted from an external ROM. In order to do this I need to know the procedure to create a bootable file.

2.To have a better understanding I wanted to refer some example codes such as interfacing of DSP with SRAM.

3.How to create an appropriate .cmd file for different DSP functionality.

4.Can a header file be directly used that will be having the register settings and other configurable units, which I can incorporate in my program.

Can you please help?

Best Regards

Feroz

  • Feroz,

First the documentation answer and then the training workshop answer.

The C6000 Peripherals Overview document has a list of names and links to all of the peripheral User's Guides for the device. You may also want to search TI.com for application notes related to the C64x or C641x or C6414 to get some ideas of how to use different portions of the device.

On the TI Wiki Pages, you can search for IW6000 which is an old name for our C6000 Integration Workshop when it supported the C641x devices. You will find archives of the training class, and you will want to go through the whole thing, based on your list of questions. I think the IW6000 workshop will address all of your questions above.

    Regards,
