AM6441: CCS20.5 support AM64?

Part Number: AM6441

Hi team

Customer  test AM64X-EVM with CCS12.8 and CCS20.5. They show different scenarios so they reach out to us to check if CCS20.5 is adapted to AM64 MCU+ SDK 12.0.

Follow this guide and they met issue on loading JS file.

AM64x MCU+ SDK: EVM Setup

But it works with same steps on CCS12.8.

I advise them to use CCS12.8 to debug, but they want to check which SDK is better used together with CCS12.8.

Thanks

  • Hi ,

Customer  test AM64X-EVM with CCS12.8 and CCS20.5. They show different scenarios so they reach out to us to check if CCS20.5 is adapted to AM64 MCU+ SDK 12.0.

As per the release notes, the recommended SDK version is 20.4.0. However, I encountered the same issue even with version 20.4.0. As a workaround, you can resolve this by running a manual

    AM64x DMSC Load Script Commands
    =================================

    Windows (Command Prompt):
    C:\ti\ccs{ccs_version}\ccs\ccs_base\scripting\bin\dss.bat C:\ti\mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_{sdk_version}\tools\ccs_load\am64x\load_dmsc_hsfs.js

    Linux (Terminal):
    {ccs_install_path}/ccs_base/scripting/bin/dss.sh {sdk_install_path}/tools/ccs_load/am64x/load_dmsc_hsfs.js

I advise them to use CCS12.8 to debug, but they want to check which SDK is better used together with CCS12.8.

If the customer is proceeding with CCS 12.8, the recommended SDK version is 11.00.00.15 as per the release notes.

You can refer to the “Tools, Compiler, and Other Open Source SW Module Information” section in the release notes for more details:

  • Hi  Jomy

If customer choose CCS20.04, they need manually change only this point, right?

    Any other limitations?

I would recommend customer to use the latest SDK.

    Thanks
