AM62D-Q1: How to test McASP interface in loopback mode

Hi Ti Experts,

I created a tuner driver, that will capture data from 6 tuners through LVDS lines where all lines are 6 dedicated data lines connected to McASP1. McASP1 is configured as Rx and Slave. Tuner is the master who generates, CLK , FS along with data. CLK and FS are shared among all tunerers and McASP1.

before I connect actual tuner, is there a possibility to test the McASP1 interface that it captures data correctly, with help of internal loopback or with external loopback by connecting data, clk and FS from other McASP interface by configuring as Master and Tx.

Help me with the better option and any example application that transmits and configures the other McASP to transmit data, clk and FS with the required configurations.

Hi Venkata,

The AM62D SDK provides a McASP internal loopback example: AM62D FreeRTOS SDK 12.00.00 - MCASP Loopback

That internal loopback test would be a basic McASP driver sanity check, and not validate the external McASP pins, or external CLK/FS. For that, you would have to configure another McASP to transmit data, CLK, and FS externally to McASP1.

Is this test being done on the TI AM62D EVM or on a custom board?
