DM1848 DDR3 Init Timing Uboot and emulator

Hi,

I am reading the DDR3 timing setup for the DM8148 with u-boot  http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI814x-DDR3-Init-U-Boot.  Couple of questions

1. Is it necessary to run the tool or just generate values from excel?

2. Can the xds100 emulator be used instead of the xds560?

3. Does CCS require a paid license to run this software for measuring the timing?

    1. Is it necessary to run the tool or just generate values from excel?

    Generate values are estimate but they are closed to actual.  The tool will provide the most accurate values.

    2. Can the xds100 emulator be used instead of the xds560?

    Yes

    3. Does CCS require a paid license to run this software for measuring the timing?

    CCS does require pay license.
