AM62P: AM62P mcu low power mode

Hi Team,

I am working on the AM62P MCU domain and currently trying to implement the low power mode flow.

Our requirement is that, when the MCU receives a low power request from the A53 core, the MCU R5 core should enter a low power state (suspend-to-RAM), and the A53 core should also enter suspend-to-RAM.

Later, when the WKUP domain receives a CAN message, both the MCU and A53 cores should resume operation.

Could you please confirm whether this workflow is supported and provide guidance on the recommended implementation approach?

Hello Abhijith,

Can you please clarify which SDKs you are using for the A53 and MCU R5F cores? Are you working on a TI EVM or custom hardware?

The Linux SDK will handle the low power mode processes: 3.3.5. Low Power Modes — Processor SDK AM62Px Documentation

For wakeup sources, refer here: 3.3.6. Wakeup Sources — Processor SDK AM62Px Documentation

In the default IPC firmware for the MCU R5F core, there are handlers for low power modes that will gracefully shutdown the core when the request is recieved from the A53 core.

We are using MCU+SDK 12 and android SDK.

Hello Abhijith,

Refer to the Android LPM documentation: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-android/esd/AM62PX/11_00_01/docs/android/Application_Notes_Android_Low_Power.html

Notice that SDK 11.0 was the latest release for AM62P Android, so I'd recommend using the MCU+ SDK 11.0 version so the versions matches. Unless there is a specific feature that you need in the latest version.
