Part Number: TMS320DM8168
We have questions about the various variants of the TMS320DM8168 part.
There is a DM8168C, S and M part, but no explanation on what the difference is.
Due to our previous use of these parts we have have a fair idea of what they mean, but other parts and families have been EOL’d and consolidated, so we don’t really know.
The big question is about the DM8168MCYG4, which exists on the datasheet (without any explanation for the differences) but does not exist in the ordering section of the web page.
- What is the “M part?
My suspicion is that it enables the TPPSS and Trueview codec.
Can you please confirm. - Can you please get us some documentation that explains the differences between the S, C and M parts.
Not the marketing target, (S=security, M=transport, C=all others), but the real differences (which internal functions are enabled or disabled.
