beagle bone kernel compiling

Hi, I'm tring to rebuild kernel to beaglebone board.

Host machine have Ubuntu OS.

I use this link http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/am_bu/sdk/AM335xSDK/latest/exports/am335x-evm-sdk-src-05.03.03.00.tar.gz
to download the kernel source tree.

I have installed arm-linux-gnueabi- tools from Ubuntu repository using apt-get.

Hi,

Can you try using integrated GCC 4.5-based toolchain built from Arago. This can be found in the linux-devkit directory of the SDK.

Please check the user guide.

I cannot speak to whether the toolchain you are using will work, but you should also use the tisdk_am335x-evm_defconfig file for configuring the kernel.

Luigi:

Just be curious, why does your kernel say "XIP" image? Do you enable "Boot from ROM" from the menuconfig? But you still built the kernel as a uImage, not xipImage?

Hi,

I used "am335x_evm_defconfig" config file.

Now I compile the kernel with ARAGO toolchain and the board start right.

I use Debian filesystem, I think this is compiled with "arm-linux-gnueabi-" tools.

Can I have the problem with kernel compiled with arago toochain?
