J722SXH01EVM: Support for MAX96716A Deserializer Driver

Hi,

We are currently using the TI TDA4 platform, where we have successfully brought up our camera using the MAX96714 deserializer and MAX96717 serializer.

We now need to replace the MAX96714 with the MAX96716A deserializer. Could you please let us know if there is an existing or compatible Linux driver available for the MAX96716A? If so, could you share the relevant details or point us to the appropriate driver? Also we are using the SDk version 11.00.00.08.

Your guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Arun,

    Since this is a question to Maxim SERDES, i would request you to please check with Maxim. We dont support Maxim drivers.

    Thank you for your response.

    I understand that the MAX96716A device itself is a Maxim component. However, I noticed that the TI SDK already includes support for several Maxim SERDES devices, such as the MAX96714 and MAX96724, and their corresponding Linux drivers are available as part of the SDK.

    I could not find a driver for the MAX96716A in the SDK. Since these drivers are integrated with the TI Linux SDK and camera framework, I wanted to check whether there is any existing or planned support for the MAX96716A driver in the TI SDK, or if there is a recommended approach to add support based on the existing Maxim SERDES drivers. I don't think Maxim have the drivers for this, this is mainly based on the Ti soc right, that's why I have asked.

    Hi Arun,

    The existing driver might be from the open source community following standard Linux framework. We don't have plan to support Maxim serdes in the SDK.
