AM62L: What's the situation when we programming efuse failed.

Part Number: AM62L

Hello, Expert.

As titile descrption, customer wants to know is it possible to recover AM62L once programming e-fuse failed. I think the cause should be like as below.

(1) If we stop VPP supply when keywriter programs key, that's mean efuse value may be consistent. Can AM62L boot w/ non-signature firmware?

(2) If we interrupt keywriter execution. (ex, power off the board), that's mean efuse value may be consistent. Can AM62L boot w/ non-signature firmware?

(3) Follow item (1)/(2), can we recover AM62L to initial state?

(4) How do we know keywriter write keys success or not?

I already check this link.

Thank You.

  • Hi Gibbs,

Please review <6.8 VPP Specifications for One-Time Programmable (OTP) eFuses> in AM62L datasheet on VPP.
    - 6.8.3 Programming Sequence
    - 6.8.4 Impact to Your Hardware Warranty

    For your questions:
    - #1/#2/#3, the operation is in violation with the required OTP key programming sequence, and the result is unpredictable.
    - #4, check the return status (successful or not ) when calling the key programming function.

    Best,
    -Hong
