AM62A7: Vision apps init giving memory map errors

Hello Team,

We are using AM62A7 starter kit, 11.01.07.05 version of edgeai linux sdk. While running vision_apps_init.sh we are getting the following error

root@am62axx-evm:/opt/vision_apps# source ./vision_apps_init.sh
root@am62axx-evm:/opt/vision_apps# 0.000000 s: APP_LOG: ERROR: Unable to map memory @ 0xa1000000 of size 262144 bytes !!!
APP_LOG: ERROR: Unable to map memory @ 0xa2000000 of size 3288576 bytes !!!

The same error comes up when we are trying to run https://github.com/TexasInstruments-Sandbox/edgeai-rgb-ir-app-examples/blob/main/gstreamer-pipelines/gst-command-rgb-display.sh

So, we feel some memory mapping is not done correctly in OpenVx. This is a fresh sdk installed and done make and flashed to sd card. Please help us with the issue.

Hello Reshma,

Are you using any CSI camera with device-tree overlay files?

You are likely running into a known scenario [1]. For 11.1, we changed how memory map carveouts are detected by linux.

Previously, it was all in the main .DTS, but this was pushed into a ti/k3-am62a7-sk-edgeai.dtbo file for modularity. This DTBO is set by default, but adding in your own overlay files will negate this. This edgeai DTBO needs to be manually included, per [1]

If this is NOT your scenario, we will take a different path to debug the issue.
