RTC in OMAP-L138

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hi,

We are seeing some issues w.r.t. RTC on OMAP-L138.

There is a drift in RTC time. Can some body help on how to debug this?

Do you have a local TI field/sales team supporting you on this?

Will likely need someone to understand the details in further depth, the above description is not enough.

At a high level, RTC is a digital counter with an oscillator so any time drift is likely because of the crystal oscillator.  There are compensation registers included to handle this if the time is drifting by a small amount in one direction only: COMPMSB + COMPLSB.

If it's an inconsistent drift or large drift, you should focus on the crystal oscillator circuit itself to see if tweaking any external components to center the oscillator frequency. It might not be a bad idea to try other crystals too, if possible.
