As shown in the attached image, the UART port IC on this board is burnt out.

The operation was performed as follows:

With the J721S2 not powered on, the debug port was connected to a laptop, and the UART IC burned out immediately.

Hi chen,

What was the task you were performing?

As only connecting the UART to laptop shouldn't burn out the UART IC.

What is the history of the EVM? Every EVM is functionally tested at the manufacturing site - meaning a USB cable was plugged into the connector and the USART function was verified. The failure area seem large, can you identify which component failed? My guess something other than 5V USB was plugged into the connector (possibly higher voltage).
