DRA821U-Q1: U4 vs U2 variant?

Part Number: DRA821U-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821

Team,
This post summarizes the differences of the DRA821U4 Vs DRA821U2:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1004047/dra821u-device-feature-clarifications-functional-safety-question-and-power-calculation

In term of speed grade:
This datasheet table gives different speed grade options:
        image.png

However the 'orderable part number' (OPN) list only gives two speed grades available as orderable:
   DRA821U4T
   DRA821U2C
-Are there any other OPNs available in in different speed grade (like L, or E)?

-Is there some type #define (for RTOS SDK) or DTS cfg (for Linux) that take into account the U4 and U2 differences?
Or does it need to be manually done (user'S to pick right pinmux, PLL cfg, enabling only two CPSW5G ports, ..etc)?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

  • Hi Anthony,

Speed grades are linked to device type, and not all are available in every level of safety/security since there would be too many permutations. We also do not publicly display high secure parts, only the general purpose variants. So there are many more parts available than those 2 speed grades you see (when ordering via PO). I can help further over email if there is a particular OPN you are looking for.

We do not have a tool for automatic configuration depending on variant, it would need to be done manually.

    Best,

    Nikhil
