Part Number: AM6422
Hi,
I am evaluating the EtherCAT Process Data access performance on AM64x devices.
We found the following older document:
EtherCAT Slave Datasheet:
https://dr-download.ti.com/software-development/driver-or-library/MD-JLNx46uE7Y/01.00.10.00/EtherCAT_Slave_Datasheet.pdf
The document provides Process Data read/write benchmark results for older devices such as AM335x and AM437x. For example, it includes legacy and enhanced Process Data Interface results using EDMA.
However, AM64x has a different architecture, including Cortex-A53 cores, Cortex-R5F cores and ICSSG. Therefore, it is unclear whether the benchmark data in this document is still applicable to AM64x.
I would like to know the actual measured Process Data read/write time on AM64x.
Could TI please provide benchmark data for the following cases?
1. Cortex-R5F reading RxPDO Process Data from the ICSSG ESC shared memory.
2. Cortex-R5F writing TxPDO Process Data to the ICSSG ESC shared memory.
3. Cortex-A53 reading RxPDO Process Data.
4. Cortex-A53 writing TxPDO Process Data.
Best Regards,
Andy Zhou
