Connecting with external ADC

We are evaluating if AM335X is suitable for the DAB/DRM solution. Can I use external ADC, running at 8.192MHz, 10bit parallel, to do the Software defined rradio application?

The ADC on AM335x only supports a maximum sample rate of 100K samples per second.

Hi Paul,

Is it possible to use a external ADC by GPMC or PRUSS? The input data is continuing during the application.

It may be possible to use GPMC, but GPMC may be shared with other external devices. Your application would need to manage interleaving of data transfers with the ADC which may require very periodic data transfers.

Have you considered using an Audio codec connected to McASP. McASP was specifically designed for digital audio I/O.

The only official PRUSSv2 feature set supported by TI is the Industrial communications protocols included in the Industrial SDK: http://www.ti.com/tool/sysbiossdk-ind-sitara.

We are trying to use an external ADC to receive the digtized IF data (to build a low cost soft radio solution), sampling rate is about 8.192MHz. Is there any reference design of AM335x on this application
