USB CSL does not enumerate on C5515 eZdsp stick

Guru 15580 points

It appears that many people are having problems with their "out of box" experience with the USB section of  the CSL. HAS ANYONE GOTTEN THE C5515 EZDSP BOARD (*not* the C5515 EVM board) TO WORK WITH THE USB CSL? Does it work? Should it work? How do you make it work?

I have read all of the (circa 2001!) CSL USB documentation (SPRU511). I have read all of the threads on E2E. I have read (and re-read) Jan Axelson's book, USB Complete. I have read the various reaedme.txt files scattered about the CSL and USB Host Tool. I have read the doxygen-created pages in the "doc" section of the CSL install directory.  I have recompiled my CSL .lib in Relase instead of Debug per Jason's poser here:(http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/tms320c5000_power-efficient_dsps/f/110/t/53250.aspx?PageIndex=3) .  And we all wait with baited breath for Steve Tsang's answer to Bruno's very detailed (and documented) question here:http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/tms320c5000_power-efficient_dsps/f/110/t/163511.aspx.

Can someone give us a hand with getting the USB CSL to work on the C5515 eZdsp board?

  • Hi Mike,

I dont know if this will answer your question, but have a look at the current release notes (attached). They are from 2012, and include some edits you must make in order for the CSL to work with the C5515.

I am using the CSL with the 5535 and it seems to be working, provided I made the edits that are required in the 2012 release notes for the C5500 ( otherwise known as C55xx) CSL.

Let me know if that helps,

  • Nathan,

Thanks for the reply. But as you can see, this post is from Feb of last year, about the time I gave up on the C5515 USB. Perhaps they have improved the CSL since then, but I have moved on. The main reason was this:

This tool requires Jungo USB driver which can be downloaded from the link www.jungo.com.

When I last checked, these drivers were quite expensive.

Also, as you can see from the lack of response to my original post, the support for USB applications for the C55xx is non-existent.

Thanks again, and best of luck.
