AM3358: Configuration for DDR3L

Part Number: AM3358

EMIF Tools can be used to configure the EMIF on AM335x, but two versions of EMIF Tools are available.

Which EMIF Tool should be used?

Neither EMIF Tool appears to support DDR3L; both seem to support only DDR3.

Does EMIF Tools support DDR3L?

If not, how should DDR3L be configured? Is there a configuration tool that supports DDR3L?

    Daisuke, thank you for pointing out the discrepancy.  I will get that fixed.

    You should use the .xlsx file that has "v3" in the filename.  It supports DDR3L (ie, DDR3 memory type is generic for DDR3/DDR3L)

    I understand that the DDR3 memory type in the file includes DDR3L.

    Please let me know if there are any special settings required for DDR3L in the file.

    Hi James-san,

    I found the Application Report for the AM335x EMIF tools through a Google search. However, the document does not appear to be linked from the AM335x product page, the EMIF tools page, or any other AM335x-related resources.

    Can the document still be used for the AM335x EMIF tools?

    Also, I would appreciate it if you could answer my previous question as well.

    yes, that doc can still be used. 

    There aren't any special settings for DDR3L.  DDR3L just uses different voltage levels, these are not represented in the tool.  The spreadsheet should be filled out in the same way as a DDR3 device
