C6747 McASP TDM format limitation

(Sorry, I update figures:)

Hi,

Let me confirm that, when DSP receives the TDM format data, is the width of the frame sync(LRCK) are checked?

What I want to know is that, below Frame sync should be OK, when the   FRWID was set up as single word:

But I guess that, below Frame sync is also OK.,  because McASP User's Guide said that,

"It is required that the transmitter and receiver in the system agree on the number of bits per slot, since the
determination of a slot boundary is not made by the frame sync signal (although the frame sync marks the
beginning of slot 0 and the beginning of a new frame)."

Is my guess above correct?

best regards,

Hirofumi Fujita

  • Fujita-san,

This is fine.  McASP really only looks at the "start of frame" edge, it's not smart enough to look at the other frame sync edge.  I actually had this question from another customer and IP owner confirmed it's OK.

    Thanks,

    Bobby T.
