hi all

we are working OMAP3530, we have to interface LPDDR SDRAM to SDRC.

we have to make device with 8Gb LPDDR SDRAM memory.

there are 2 CS in SDRC, each can support 512MByte memory.

from micron 512MB, x16, 1.8v LPDDR are not available.

but we found 8Gb LPDDR, x32, 1.8v, the part number is MT46H256M32L4JV-6 IT.

from the data sheet (i have attached the data sheet), the page number 19 shows, there are 4 dies, each 256 MB, requires 2 Chip select options and x32 band width. etc..

my question is

is it possible to interface single chip 8Gb LPDDR to SDRAM with 2 CS's ?

Hello,

Which package are you using? If it is a PoP package then you should be ok, but I wouldn't us the discrete VFBGA because of the 4 loads.

we are planning PoP package.

we are using Angstrom linux , is it necessary to change any SDRAM supporting drivers. please suggest me

Hi,

Yes, you will need to make sure that the new memory is configured properly. here is a helpful wiki page on setting up the memory interface which also includes a .xls to help with the AC timings.
