Hi all,
This is probably a newbie question...
In the DM816x datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprugx8/sprugx8.pdf , in section 7.1.2, it stated that the DDR3 controller has 1GB of memory space.
In the DM8168 DVM, http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evm816x/revg/files/evm816x_TechRef_RevG.pdf . The board has 2GB of DDR3 soldered on.
How do we extend the memory space to accommodate more memory capacity? And how do you know how much memory you need?
Thanks in advance,
Titus
Cool, thanks Steve!
So if I want to support more memory, is there a way to do it?
Titus
Hello,
As Steve mentioned, the total amount of addressable memory space supported on this device is 2GB. This can be accomplished by using two 4Gb (x16-bit only) devices on each EMIF.
Regards,
Marc
Hi there,
Just wondering how you determine the memory capacity a design needs?
Thanks,
Titus
