C6678 EVM - not able to see USB/Ethernet connection

I am using a C6678 (Shannon) EVM. It works with standard Ethernet port on my PC but it does not work with USB-Ethernet adapter on the same PC.  Has anyone used C6678 EVM with USB-Ethernet adapter?

For reference, I am using the Sabrent USB 2.0 to RJ-45 Gigabit 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter. I am able to use the same adapter with a DM8168 (Netra) EVM.

Thank you for the comments/feedback in advance.

  • You use the adapter on the PC side right?

Do you use a direct link between PC(adaptor) and C6678evm board?

As I know, some of the USB-Ethernet adapter does not work stable.

Further more, why do you need to use such an adapter?

  • I had a similar problem using a DeLock USB/Ethernet adaptor on a Windows 7 system.

    What worked for me was:

    a) setting the EVM's IP to static using the dip switch and assigning a static IP to the USB-LAN adaptor as well

    and

    b) when powering up the EVM, deactivate and reactivate the LAN adaptor via its preferences.

It's a bit cumbersome but proved to work in my case.
