OMAP4460 CPI driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4460

Hello.

Does TI provide CPI driver for OMAP4460?

I found driver only for CSI phy.

WBR,

  • Hello.

It's strange silence from TI about this question. It looks like NVidia's mobile forum - all questions about paraller video interface or other hardware blocks haven't any answer.

May be we have to sign NDA to get answer on this question?

    WBR,

  • TI does not provide CPI driver in OMAP4460 releases.

  • It's a pitty :)

May be then you can help to understand some of TRM suggestions about this mode?

    TRM says:

In this configuration, no assumptions are made about the data format of pixels, but the dynamic range is
limited to 8, 10, 12, and 16 bits (data can be pure Luminance for black and white sensor, RGB444, Bayer
RGB, etc.). The pixel data is presented on cam2_d, where 1 pixel is sampled for every cam2_pclk rising
edge (or falling edge, depending on the configuration of cam2_pclk polarity).

I have several questions about proper setup of ISS in this mode:

    1. How can i set up valid data lines which connected to sensor if i have more than 8 cam2_d data lines?

May be ISS is smart enough to determine it by camera pin mux?

    2. Again, if i have more than 8 data lines which is byte order in 8-bit stream of data

    3. How can i set up polarity of PCLK, HS, VS

    WBR,

  • Today some one from TI have called me about my questions on this forum. They insistently asked do not talk about CPI VP mode as OM4460 is only in testing stage so the technical support is impossible now until OM4460 going to mass production stage.

Very nice....may be TI will send a killer to me to ? :)

  • It is correct that 4460 is under test. Do you remember who called you from TI?

  • Sorry, i didn't understand who it was. We talked via mobile phone and communication line was very noisy. Definitely it was a woman from russian TI office :)

She interested why and where we're planning to use OM4460, thanked for interest to TI production and told that OM4460 is only in test phase so the technical support for this processor is impossible.

I asked about my questions on TI forum and she confirmed that my questions too early until OM4460 not going to mass production stage.
