This weekend I installed Windows 7 64 bit with CCS 4.1.3 on my laptop and I noticed that whenever I run any programs on my C5515 ezDSP board, there is a loud hissing sound that drains out any of the processed signals. If I output 0's for the left and right channels, I still hear the hissing sound. I've tried multiple speakers, but I still hear the hissing sound. If a program is running on the DSP and there is no input, I still hear the hissing sound. If no program is loaded, then I don't hear the hissing sound.
I've also tried running the same programs on CCS v5 on the Ubuntu 11.10 partition of my laptop, but I still experience the same problems.
The last time I had my board working was on another machine, which was running Windows 7 (not sure if 64 or 32 bit) . The difference here was I used the cd that came from Spectrum Digital to install the drivers and CCS. Are the drivers that come with the Spectrum Digital cd unique from the drivers available with the TI CCS drivers?
Any insight to the cause of the problem would be highly appreciated.
