Hi ,

Regards,
Hi,
DM8127 and DM385 are two different Chips which are targeted for IPNC market.
DM8127 has DSP, SGX, extra EMIF for addtional DDR bandwith etc compared to DM385.
Please look at the datasheet for more details on it
From IPNC RDK point of view, same usecases will be running on both the chip considering triple stream (1080p60+D130+Mjpeg1080p5).
Same ISS, HDVPSS and Codecs will be used in both the chips, so this part of software is identical.
The main difference from IPNC point of view which is seen is the DSP not available in DM385 along with addtional EMIF for extra DDR bandwidth
Can you tell us your usecase based on which we can suggest the chip you can choose?
Also, Strongly suggest to contact local TI Sales office for further details and clear understanding of the offering

Hi Xiang and Raghu,
I've been using the Appro DM8127 IPNC RDK for a couple months now. And I have never seen an actual "data sheet" for the DM8127? Is there one available? How can I see it??? All I've been able to find out is that the DM8127 is a "subset" of the DM814x family... and that the DM814x family is a subset of the DM816x family. Is this correct?
Also, I may be wrong about this (since I've never seen an actual data sheet for the DM8127), but I don't believe it contains any SGX hardware (i.e. - SGX530, etc.). Is that correct?
Thanks!
Allen

Comment> its SGX530, for more details on this, can you check with local TI Sales
Hi Raghu,
My local TI FAE asked someone at TI and they told him (today) that there was not a unique datasheet for the DM812x family but that they were the same as the DM814x family but just "lower power" (presumably because the cores run at lower frequencies?). I also learned that the DM8148/8128 has both a DSP core and the SGX530 graphics accelerator, the DM8147/8127 has the DSP core but does NOT have the SGX530, and the DM8146/8126 has the SGX530 but does NOT have the DSP core.
Does that information match what you know?
If there's a datasheet for the DM812x family (now or in the future?) I'd like to have it but if there isn't I'll stop looking for one.
Thanks!
Allen
Hi Allen & Raghu,
Thanks for your clarification about the difference between DM8127 and DM385.
About the datasheet of DM8127,i also never see one of that .Actually,DM8127 IPNC use the Chip of X8148X3874BCYE,i have checked the main board
