IPNC Reference Design on DM812x Streaming RTSP Into MATLAB/LABVIEW

I am working with the TMDSIPCAM8127J3 which has embedded DM8127 video processor. Trying to capture images from real-time stream into MATLAB or LABVIEW for processing algorithm development. I can access the RTSP streaming video through TI demo software and using VLC player. Does anyone know the "http://" location of images in the video stream which would allow me to pull them into MATLAB via their URL?

Hi Robert,

Have you connected the debug port / UART terminal to the kit? There is live debug prints from the kernel on to the terminal which also prints the URL.You can also use the URL template given below to check the stream:

rtsp://<IP_ADDRESS>:8556/PSIA/Streaming/channels/2?videoCodecType=H.264

rtsp://<IP_ADDRESS>:8557/PSIA/Streaming/channels/2?videoCodecType=H.264

Hi,

You can get http streams from boa web server cgi:

http://192.168.1.168/ipcam/mjpeg.cgi

http://192.168.1.168/ipcam/mpeg4.cgi

http://192.168.1.168/ipcam/mpeg4cif.cgi

Look at :\ipnc_app_dm812x_open\ipnc_app\network\boa-0.94.13\src\request.c -> HTTP_URI HttpUri []

Rajat,

Yes, I am able to read the RTSP streams that you listed, but MATLAB and LabView don't recognize those protocols.

Some cameras have images located, for example, in:

/images/currentImage.jpg">http://<IP_ADDRESS>/images/currentImage.jpg

Hi Robert,

We have not tried interfacing the IPNC with Matlab.

What we support is the bitstream packetization in a linux application (A8) and then streaming over RTP/RTSP. I think you may want to check if there is some way of supporting RTP/RTSP stream input in Matlab.
