1st IDR cause unstable

I have a problem about the H.264 decode. I have the h.264 decoder version (1.10.04) which is coming with the dvsdk_3_10_00_19. It works but it has some defect. Here is the description.

I played the H.264 elementary stream with the 720p. The first frame is the IDR slice and it can be decoded by the codecs. However, the output of the frame is full of blocks and unstable. I don't receive any error from the codecs. The worst thing is this frame affect the rest of the stream. The playback will become unstable (like shutter and color fadding).

If I skip the first IDR slice and play the rest of the stream. The first few frames will be shutter and grey in color because it doesn't have the IDR slice. It will become normal when the next IDR slice is received. Afterward, everything will become normal and smooth.

Is there any insight about this ? Is it related with codec?

Can you just cut initial 1 MB and attach it in the post ? From your email, it seems the problem comes in initial part only,

Hi Yashwant,

After a day of test, it must related with the first codec received IDR frame. It doesn't matter which IDR in the clip but it is the first one for the codec. It helps a lot if the codec receive some non-IDR frame before the IDR. Otherwise, it will have a lot of out of sync in the screen.

I did not get the clip in the post, can you pls check it again.

Also, you are saying that if your give directly the IDR frame, you see issue in decoding. And you also say that its better if you start few frames before IDR.

One point to note is that there is SPS and PPS information which comes along with IDR frame(just before the first video slice of IDR frame). When you are feeding the IDR frame to the codec, are you making sure that it also has the headers (SPS and PPS) along with it ? Maybe this could be the issue. Pls check.

We observe that on the stand alone decoder, the shared bit-stream is decodable from the first IDR picture, without any artifacts. Hence it does not seem to be a problem with the codec.It has been verified on the same decoder version as mentioned above 1.10.04.00

In my case, if I skip the first IDR-picture, the rest of the clip will be ok. If I play the first IDR picture. It will have a sync problem in the rest of the clip. If you test the first IDR without problem, I can try to upload a bit more for analysis.
