Problem in booting AM 3517 for Android from sd card

Hi All,

I am trying to follow the steps given in quick start guide for booting AM3517 EVM with SD card which has pre-built images for android. But when I switch on the power, I am getting the following error in serial console:

I have s7:1 and s7:4 switches in ON position. Also once I tried with s7:1,s7:4,s7:8 switches in ON position. I also tried formatting the SD card and putting images again, but without success. Can any one help me on this.

It appears that the evm is booting from NAND flash and not from SD card.

Please verify that you have done the boot-mode setup correctly. See http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1_UserGuide#Setting_up_Hardware

You may also wish to consult the documentation with your board for boot mode configuration.

If it does not work, you may have to erase your NAND.

Thanks for the reply.

I verified the hardware settings and it seems to be correct. In the documentation they have mentioned that if NAND flash is not empty, then the system might not boot from SD card and in that we have to do the following in Serial Console / Terminal prompt in u-boot

#> mmc init

#> fatload mmc 0 0x82000000 boot.scr

#> source 0x82000000

You have also mentioned about erasing NAND flash.

So can you please tell me how I can get to prompt in u-boot to erase NAND, because I am not getting anything apart from the logs which I have pasted. Or Is there any other way I can erase NAND flash or initializing the SD card.
