Can the DSP  block on the AM3730 be used for traditional DSP calculations/operations such as FFTs, etc, or is it only for the image video and audio processing functions.

    Paul,

    You mean DM3730 I think.  DSP can be used for traditional signal processing depending on SW stack being used.  Some SDK distributions may use DSP for A/V processing, then would need to integrate your processing task.
