use of hp laser printer with linux on my am1808 evm

I am also working on same.

In fact i was working with two of them, One is HP and other is from Samsung.

I have already compile usb pritner support i kernel and so my printer device creates a node like "/dev/usb/lp0".

But when i try to write something on it only samsung printer works, HP doesnt do anything.

I also cross compile old LPR code, Cups library but with no success.

Now was hoping some one can help a bit.

I dont have any specific doc to follow.

i got info from google.

N all i did is compile usb printers support into kernel.

but as i said, all i have manages is detection as node n print text.

NO images, and It seems need to cross compile Ghostscript as well to make it work.

You need to enabled printer class driver for host usb side at drivers->USB support->...search for printer. Then connect the printer to boar and use printer app to print.

Harnek has done the desired kernel configuration but still not able to use the deskjet printer through CUPS. It looks like the drivers are not configured/installed properly, can you help? The log can be seen at the below post:
