MCSDK and CCSv5.1 on Ubuntu Linux

My development machine is an Ubuntu box. I have CCSv5.1 installed.  I need to install the MCSDK, but it appears from this page that it is only available for Windows.  I downloaded it onto a coworker's Windoze box and ran it. It appeared to just unzip a bunch of files into a directory.

Questions :

1.) (Preferably) Would there be a Linux .bin for the MCSDK to install it on Linux hosts?

2.) If not, is there anything preventing me from zipping up all of those files and the unzipping them on my Linux dev machine in the correct directory?

3.) Would I have to inform CCSv5.1 in some way of their existence?

Thanks!
