Hi,
If we order a TMS320C6678 does it automatically get 2.0 silicon?
Should I do something to make sure I don't get 1.0 silicon?

You'll need to order the Specific revision number. It's part of the order entry number. In the data manual there's a Device Nomenclature section (section 2.9) that shows how this is decode (i.e. how to decode the order entry value of the optional devices listed for order entry.) Specifically there will be the letter A between the Device 'C6678' and the Package Type 'CYP' for PG 2.0

Thanks Chad,
That makes sense.
Is the TMDSEVM6678L evaluation module similar? The page http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdsevm6678 shows Current Version as v2.0, but I don't know if that's a silicon revision.

Greg,
That's and EVM from a 3rd Party (Advantech) the version number is for the board (they had 0.5 and 1.0 before this.) I'm checking to see when they will be updating the website and if that has only PG2.0 Si on it. It would have started during the TMX stage of PG2.0 Si, so it may have TMX320C6678 PG 2.0 devices on it.

Greg,
I found out that Revsion 2 of the EVM does not have PG 2.0 Si. Revision 3.0 will have PG 2.0 Si. It's in production now, but that said, whatever is in stock is what get's shipped out, we cannot guaranty that if you order one today that it will be Revision 3 of the EVM.
Best Regards,
Chad
