DSP 674x on OMAPL138/132

Hi:

On page 24 of SPRUFK5A, it is atated

"L1P regions can only be written to using EDMA or IDMA accesses; the L1P regions cannot be written to using CPU stores. The L1P regions can be read from using EDMA or IDMA processes. CPU access is limited too instruction fetch. The CPU cannot read from L1P, even if L1P is memory-mapped. See section 2.9.12."

Then in section 2.9.12, on page 37, it is stated

"CPU cannot directly access L1P RAM and ROM via load and store instructions.'

Now here is our situation. We are planning on using L1P as SRAM. My question the is: With L1P programmed as SRAM, can it be used for program storage, and the CPU can fetch instructions from it?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,

Mushtaq
