On OMAP3EVM(DM3730)board we observed following wifi settings issue on Android 2.3.4 Devkit-2.1:

Go to Menu->Settings->Wireless & Network settings->Wi-Fi (Turn On Wi-Fi)
After we check this option we can not see the available wi-fi networks in the network settings.
Now uncheck this Wi-Fi option.
Go to Menu->Settings->Wireless & Network settings->WiFi Settings->Wi-Fi (Turn On Wi-Fi)
After we check this option we can always detect the available wireless networks.

In the steps 1 and 2 we never detects the wifi networks. Is there any known issue on this BSP?

I did not understand your query.. Are you detecting the Wi-Fi networks or not?

Could you provide full logs, dmesg and logcat output?

In order to make wifi detectable, sometime we have to on, off and on the wifi.

We have noticed that, sometimes the android userspace does not detect wi-fi enable/connection if booted with wifi on. Only after turning off and then on again does it work. Perhaps this is similar to your issue.

This is currently under investigation.

The compat-wifi drivers for Gingerbread was updated and pushed to rowboat sometime back.

Could you try again with the latest gingerbread sources from the rowboat-gingerbread manifest instead of the release version?

Hi Bhatt,

I am using the Android 4.1 Jelly Beans version for Beaglebone available on Ti's website. How do I make the Wifi and Bluetooth work with the board? I don't see an option to enable Wifi module.
