Does someone have any schematic symbols for the AM3352? Customer is looking for OrCAD or Altium schematic symbols.
Thank you!

BeagleBone has schematics file available. You should be able to reuse it from there.

You can also go to the AM3352 Product Folder and find them in the CAD Symbols & Footprints section.
Brandon,
Have you downloaded the file to confirm it has the ORCAD symbol? I looked and I didn't see any ORCAD related file...only a file with DRA extension.
James,
I see your point on the AM3352 Product Folder. Going to the sibling device AM3358 Product Folder, you will see a schematic symbol for the XAM3358ZCE.

Hi Brandon,
Okay... I see you added a symbol for the AM3358... but it's in the 298 pin package...do you have one for the 324 pin package as well? We may go with the larger pitch for ease of routing. Also is the AM3358 100% pin compatible drop in with the AM3352? I want to make sure the symbol is an exact so I don't have any surprises when I'm doing the design or debug. Thanks,
Hi,
Any status on this? I did try to look at Beagle Bone schematic, but not sure what version ORCAD they use, but I can't open it. So does TI have ORCAD symbol for AM3352 in the 324 pin package? If you...please provide a hard link so I can continue with my design.
Please check the AM3358 Product Folder again. There is a symbol for the 324-pin ZCZ package as well as the 298-pin ZCE.
I just checked the AM3352 Product Folder and both are available there as well.
As this answer was almost a year ago, it appears the AM3352 Product Folder no longer contains the symbol and footprint. I have downloaded the same for the AM3358 but would like to know if this is pin and pad compatible with the AM3352. If not, where can I now find the correct ones?
Thank you.
Thank you for your reply. I've downloaded the CAD files from the AM3358 Product page but either I'm missing something or the file is incorrect. I downloaded the ZCE file along with the Ultra Librarian package. When I create the EagleCad symbol and layout footprint, the symbol contains 324 pins whereas the footprint has 298. To correct this, I've modified the symbol by removing the unused pins. But while constructing the device (assigning pins to pads) the symbol does not have any pins for the 19th row of pads, i.e. I2C0_SCL, UART1_TXD. etc. I can add them myself but it seems like there is an error here - the ZCZ symbol is being used for the ZCE package.
Am I missing something?
All,
We are working with vendor on new contract to produce bxls. The previous contract expired December 31, 2012. We hope to have an agreement within the next couple of weeks.
I have the following parts for new bxl creation and/or correction if needed.

Janet

Janet,
I am confused...ZCE is 298 pins and ZCZ is 324...how come you have ZCE with 298 and 324 pins?
Please check the data sheet...Am I missing something?
Matt, attached is the ZCE symbol. We'll work on getting the web updated. Let me know if you have any issues. Thanks!
Alejandro

Rogerio,
Sorry, I have a mistake. You are correct that ZCE has 298 and ZCZ has 324 pins.
The vendor sent corrected AM3358_ZCE_298.bxl package on February 15, 2013 and we sent to Alejandro Erives and also uploaded to ti.com. The previous bxl had pin and package dimension errrors.
Regards,
Janet
Matt,
I just loaded the AM3358_ZCE_298.bxl from ti.com and verified that the symbol is indeed incorrect and contains 324 pins rather than 298 pins. The associated ZCE footprint has 298 like you reported. We will get this corrected asap with vendor.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Janet
Rogerio,
Unfortunately there is still a problem with the bxl and we are working with the vendor to fix.

Janet
I have another issue with the ZCE package as supplied through the bxl file. When I convert the footprint to Eagle using Ultra Librarian, it will only output a file in imperial units even though I change the options to export in millimeters. Once the footprint is opened in Eagle, the pad size is 14 mil diameter with a pitch of 25mil. This only leaves 11mil in between pads to route a 4mil trace with 4mil spacing on each side. It's 1mil too narrow. The datasheet actually says that the BGA pad size should be 0.4mm or 15.75mils. That would only leave a trace opening of .25mil or 9.8mils. I've downloaded the "am335xevm13x13baseboard_3h0000_1_0A.brd" file. I have the Allegro free file viewer and from what I can measure, the pad is 0.3mm. Can someone please confirm the recommended pad size? I'm quite certain the rounding errors between mils and mm will cause me much grief.
Thanks
Guido van Veldhuizen,
Our vendor delivered a corrected AM3352_ZCE_298.bxl this week which I am including below for your convenience.
You can download the UltraLibrarian free reader from http://webench.ti.com/cad/ and translate the bxl to the desired format (i.e. Orcad or Altium, etc.). I will let you know when this corrected AM3352_ZCE_298.bxl is updated on ti.com.
Regards,
Janet
Matt,
I don't know if you still need this but the vendor corrected the AM3358_ZCE_298.bxl and I am attaching for your convenience.
6232.AM3358_ZCE_298.bxl. I will let you know when corrected version is published to ti.com.
