Local oscillator in EVM6474.

Hi everybody!

Please tell me in EVM6474 kit has a local oscillator or not? The frequency at AIF (TXN0 and TXP0) of EVM6474?

Thank you very much!

  • Hi Chien,

The F1_SYSCLK(P/N) (61.44 MHz) and F1_SYNC_CLK(P/N) (30.72 MHz) are clocks related to AIF in C6474 EVM. The F1_SYSCLK drives the AIF SERDES and the F1_SYNC_CLK provides the required synchronization signals. For more details refer to Figure 2-2 of C6474 EVM technical reference manual:

What do you mean by "The frequency at AIF (TXN0 and TXP0)"? TXN0 and TXP0 are differential transmit signals, which transmit a serial stream of bits (use 8b/10b encoding/decoding). Here there is no separate TX clk line between AIF TX (DSP1) and AIF RX (DSP2). The transmit clock is embedded into the data stream and is recovered at the RX from the stream of bits received.

For more details about AIF module and AIF SERDES, please refer to C6474 AIF users guide.
