Hi,
Which capacitive touch screen controller is used iAM335x EVM LCD A Board??
Is any one tell the part number of the controller used?

Hi,
On AM335x EVM only a resistive touchscreen controller is present. We do not have a capacitive touchscreen

Hi Rachan,
Thanks for your reply....
Pls check the link http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxevm3358#Technical Documents and goto More Literature and pls go through the
ARM MPU AM335x EVM LCD A Board Schematic. In that capacitive touch screen interfacing circuit is shown, but didn't mention the controller part number .
Can you please check and clarify...
Once again Thanks,
Regards
Ameesh
Hi Ameesh,
The LCD schematics shows interface to an Atmel mXT224 Capacitive controller.
However we do not support this on the EVM.

Hi Rachna,
Thankyou.
I am trying to modify the module's screen to Capacitive type with this LCD schematics, Is it possible ???

Ameesh
Hi,
I'm trying to switch to a capacitive screen, and I would like to use exactly the Atmel MaxTouch mxt224.
I would like to know where RESET (SYS_RESETn) and CHG (CAPTSC_INTn) signals are connected to the AM335x, in order to setup IRQ and RESET.
Thanks,
Francesco
Hello Francesco,
You can connect RESET (SYS_RESETn) pin to NRESET_INOUT (Pin No: A10) pin of AM335x.
For CHG (CAPTSC_INTn) you can use any interrupt pin of AM33x. For I2C interface i interrupt request is not necessary.

Hello Ameesh.
Sorry, I forgot to say I'm working on a AM335x - EVM, so from the schematics I can see that RESET is connected to pin A10 as you say.
Do you know if CHG is actually connected to the AM335x in the EVM board? Because looking at schematics it seems to go into an FPGA.
Thanks,
Francesco
As mentioned, the capacitive touch screen controller is not supported in the GP EVM so R8 on the LCD board is DNI, and that CHG signal is not currently used in the CPLD.
You can download the GP EVM Daughterboard CPLD files from: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_General_Purpose_EVM_CPLD to see the signal routing to support the different profiles.
