Use of CSL

Hi there,

I am trying to use the csl functions CACHE_wbL1d and CACHE_invL1d.

I got a linker error when I build: error: unresolved symbols remain

I checked my linker settings again, can't see anything wrong:

-i"C:/TI/pdk_C6678_1_0_0_17/packages/ti/csl/lib/"

-l"ti.csl.ae66"

And I used the header file #include <ti/csl/csl_cache.h>, running ccs5.0.3.23.

Any suggestion?

I have also added -l"ti.csl.intc.ae66", resulting in same error.

Hi,

You have to include "csl_cacheAux.h". The cache routines are declared inline in that file, they are not in the library (is not necessary to link with, but maybe you use some other non inline function in the csl library).

Review your compilation warning list: you should have a warning about the use of some undeclared function (if You compile C code, while the C++ compiler should generate an error).

If you are using BIOS, you should use the BIOS cache APIs instead of CSL, for two reasons:

1. Because the BIOS versions take care of some interrupt-related issues. See SPRUEX3, Chapter about Hardware Abstration Layer.

2. Because BIOS provides workaround for some Silicon Errata in both R1.0 and R2.0 silicon. See latest editions of SPRZ334 (C6678), SPRZ341 (C6674), SPRZ364 (C6602), etc.

If you don't use BIOS, look at the CSL functions to see if they provide similar workarounds for silicon errata. If not, you may have to implement your own workarounds.
