MP4 vs. basket file format

Hi folks,
we started to discover the DaVinci with a DM8168 DVR_RDK from Udworks (DVRRDK_01_09_00_19).
The main task of our applications in future will be recording of 16 channels H.264 video.
The recorded video data must be stored in MP4 file format on harddisk.
The software stack of DVRRDK_01_09_00_19 only contains a recording in basket file format.
Now I'm looking for an advice how to replace the basket file format with MP4 format.
Is a prepared software building block available for DM8168 for this task ?

We use libav-0.8.7 to put H.264 encoded cameras into MP4 container.

You also can use FFMPG.

Can u help me with some documentation for the porting of the encoded streams into mp4 container packets. Also for basket format the video data is obtained and processed frame by frame, is it the same with mp4 also.

LIBAV handles multiplexing frame by frame.

Documentation is not available for this setup.

You can start with the libavformat/output-example.c

I'm working on a DVR 16-Channel can you please provide a flowchart that clarify the working behaviour of DVR i.e after capturing the streams from camera where it will go i.e from encoder to decorder the complete flow.

There is a usecase document part of the DVR RDK release for each usecase with detailed data flow diagram. The top of the usecase file also has the data flow diagram.

i'm storing the streams on HDD in basket format but that format is not supportable in any other player so what should i do now?

It is possible to convert from basket to *.avi file format in DVRRDK demo.

For simple first tests You can export the *.avi files.

Hi TI,

In DVR_16 channel I'm storing the streams on HDD in basket format & now i have to design one basket player to play the streams, which is also applicable during taking the backup from HDD.

But i didn't find any doc's regarding this, so please provide me some doc's regarding this subject so that i can start to work on it.
