ROV - unknown error

Hi TI-Community,

every time when I try to open the ROV I get the message "unknown error".  Could someone give me an advice how to figure out what's wrong? Please find attached a screenshot, that shows the situation.

Thanks in advance.

Jo

  • Hi Joachim Siegler,

There are some known issues in Linux due to permissions.

Did you install CCS as root?

Did you run the command "eclipse -initialize" (in the ccsv5/eclipse directory) after installing to run as a user?

  • Hi Steve,

There are some news. At first, I don't know the answers to your questions. The CCS was installed by a colleague who isn't available at the moment. Sorry.

On Friday I gave up. I closed the CCS which was staying the Debug View. After the weekend I booted my VirtualBox and started CCS. CCS started directly into Debug View as expected. But now the ROV window shows the message "No active debug session", see Figure 1.  So I started a Debug Session as usual and the message changed to "XDC path or XDC Tools location not set", see Figure 2. With this guidance it was quite easy to get the ROV working. I went into "Window -> Preferences" and searched for RTSC. There I chose the correct parameters for my project and applied it, see Figure 3. After a restart of the ROV it was working.

I can not believe it, now it works. Unfortunately I don't know what happened. It was not working for weeks and now it's healed by self-healing? Hard to believe. I will keep an eye on this problem and will come back to this thread if it's happen again.
