Does DM8168 support debug trace points

I'm using CCS to debug a problem I have with my EDMA code on the DM8168.  Can someone tell me if there is any way to set a trace point triggered when a certain EDMA register is modified?  I'm trying to determine which code is changing that register

  • Hi,

Yes you can add h/w watchpoint using CCS. For that processor should have h/w watchpoint support. Following are steps to enable h/w watchpoint for Video-M3 or VPSS-M3. I have tried for this only. You can apply this for DSP as well as A8 provided they support H/W watch point.

    1. Connect to M3

    2. Go to Breakpoint tab.

    3. Click arrow near Add new breakpoint button. Button is having three small dots arranged in rectangular fashion

    4. Click "Hardware Watchpoint"

    5. Set address on which you need to enable H/W watchpoint.

    6. Set memory access as Write

    7. Processor will halt if that memory is modified
