OMAP3503 and MT9P031...low frame rate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3503

Hello OMAP Team,

We have an MT9P031 sensor connected to the GUMSTIX OMAP3503 and experience video artifacts above 48MHz PIXCLK. The sensor uses a 24MHz from the uP and the PLL code and sensor setup have been checked by 3 Aptina app engineers as being capable of 96MHz. We understand the OMAP is limited to 75MHz PIXCLK. We would be happy with 75MHz. We use the ISP port as provided by Gumstix 27 pin interface. Flex cables have been designed to be 3", some shielded, some not. One concern is the very tight input specs in the OMAP PIXCLK spec. The sensor generates a PIXCLK +/- 10% duty cycle and the OMAP spec suggests that the spec be +/- 3% (385ps) duty cycle error with nearly unachievable jitter spec (83ps). Could that be the issue? The OMAP is powered to 1.15V on VDD2 to get maximum performance.

So, please tell us what the problem is and perhaps a suggestion on a fix that could include insertion of a chip to make the PIXCLK  meet the OMAP spec

We are shipping this product at the reduced clock rate and would like a rapid response.

Thanks.
