DM816x Andorid Multimeida access

Hi Pratap,

As I understand, we do not support video streaming on DM81xx on Android.

Can I play H264 playback and captuers over this port?

I am not sure, if it meant future releases will not support MM. Can you please clarify on this?

Only H264 playback is support at present. Capture port is not enable yet.

Hi All,

We have successfully ported Android 2.3 on DM8168 using EZSDK-v5.03.01.

On multimedia front, We have added support for Video capture -> Encoder (hw) -> Decoder (hw) -> Display in the Android 2.3 and its working but we see minor performance issues there.

When we start the recording application (capture + encode + .mp4 store), We get slightly less FPS for the video. Initially it was ~8-fps for 1080P60 and ~15 fps for 720P. We optimized the capture -> encoder path and now getting ~24 - fps for 1080P60 and ~42 - fps for 720P video.

Our target is to achieve as maximum FPS as we can. Can anyone please share their experience with 1080P or 720P video on Android?

Please suggest if there is any scope/suggestions for optimization.
