Cable to connect two Zoom EVM6748 kits

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes...

I'm using the PSP drivers v1.30.01, with the EVM6748 Zoom Development Kit (TMDSEVML138). The McBSP example that came with the PSP drivers connects two EVM6748's, in order to demonstrate its operation. I have two questions:

1) Is there another way to test the McBSP operation on this particular hardware platform? Based on their schematic its not possible to route the relevant McBSP pins to the on-board CODEC (designed to work with the McASP).

2) Does anybody know where I can buy a cable to connect two of these Zoom Development Kits by means of the Audio Expander Port. This is J30 on their hardware schematic, which is a Samtec QSE-040-01-L-D-A connector. The wiring is explained in the documentation of the PSP drivers. I will not be cost effective for us to buy the connector and manufacture the cable ourselves, so we were hoping someone else already went through this process and we can only buy the cable from them.

    My recommendations:

    1) Go to the Zoom board manufacturer's website to look for additional support information. They might have test programs available, for example.

    2) The Zoom manufacturer may have these cables, or you could try doing a web search for them. There are companies that make breakout connectors that plug onto the Samtec connector and give you a small PC card with solderable connections to easily run a few wires from one board to another. I have bought breakouts from Link-Research in the past, but as a TIer I do not endorse anyone.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I actually contacted Logic PD in parallel to this post, with the hope that one of the TI community members already went through this exercise. Nevertheless, Logic PD notified me that www.CreateNewStuff.com has breakout adapter boards for that particular connector, you'd probably just have make the ribbon cable yourself.
