C6678 IBIS model errors

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

When I try to load the TMS320C6678 IBIS model downloaded from the TI website, I get the following error “Differential Pin N1 is paired with a NC pin."

The IBIS model is version 5.0, is there a newer version of the IBIS model?

As a workaround to verify the DDR III interface, we used the IBIS model from the C6670 to verify the DDR III interface. This helped us with this section of this board. We can not proceed further however.  Is using the C6670 model acceptable for just this one interface?

Thanks,

Bryan Busacco

The IBIS version is 5.0, please advise what version the actual file is that you are using (look for the following syntax: [File Rev]

Please also advise what version Tool you are using, If you are not using a mentor graphics hyperlynxs version 8.1 or newer, the syntax will be all wrong

  • I have updated the IBIS file which should work correctly for you- Please confirm receipt and that you can run it correctly. This revised model file has updated model selectors to make it easier to use

    5810.tms320c6678_r1p6.zip

This revised model should be released on line in the coming weeks

  • Hi there,

Is this the latest ibis model for C6678? The one in ti webiste (tms320C6678_4_2_1_r1p5b.ibs) doesn't defined the A12/B12 (DDRCLKOUTP0/DDRCLKOUTN0) as differential pair but 5810.tms320c6678_r1p6 does. I want to confirm that this ibis model (5810.tms320c6678_r1p6.zip) is legit to use and whether there is a newest reversion.

    Thanks,
  • Hi,

would someone have an update on the latest IBIS model for the C6678, version r1p6 that defines the DDR CLK as differential pair. Is this an official released version?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Gunter,
We strongly recommend you to create new e2e thread for your queries instead of following up on an old/closed e2e thread, new threads gets more attention than old threads and can provide link of old threads or information on the new post for clarity and faster response.
  • Hi Raja,

the question by the customer was open (not closed) as you can see from the post June 9.

The point was to close the thread with the confirmation that the IBIS model v1p6 is the one to use and an ETA of when it will be on the official C6678 product folder.

  • Hi Gunter,

Yes, I got your intention however this thread was originally open since 16 May 2012(very old). Our apps support team also changed over the period of time so we always request to create thread with old thread/post reference for faster and appropriate response.

    Thank you for your understanding.
