Any experience with these OMNIvision based camera modules

Hi there,

I have a customer about to design in the DM365 and we are curious about the compatibility with the following camera modules from Truly displays.  Does TI have any experience or is there any support for these Omnivision based cameras?

CM6082-B120BF-E
CM6893-B300BF-E

Thanks,!

  • Looks like these are sensors with only MIPI interface. So they may not be compatible with DM365, which has only parallel sensor IF. If your customer is willing to pay, they can contact Leopard Imaging to develop the driver and HW for these sensors.

  • Hi Xiangdong,

Can you please take a look to see if the following parallel sensors will be compatible with the DM365/DMVA1

    Aptina's MT9T113
    Omnivision's OV3660, OV2655, or OV2659
    Hynix's: HI-351 or HI-253

I appreciate your attention to this!!

    Thanks!

    Amy

  • The Aptina MT9T113 would work since it has 8-bit parallel interface.

I can't find information on OV or HI sensors, though. But you should be able to figure out their compatibility with DM36x/DMVA easily. Basically DM36x only has parallel image sensor interface up to 16-bit, with either embedded sync(BT.656/BT.1120 compatible) or external sync (distinct VS and HS) signals. Any sensor with parallel I/F that supports one of these modes can be connected directly with DM36x. On the other hand, any sensor with only a serial LVDS I/F, be it MIPI(CSI) or HiSpi or something other proprietary I/F will need glue logic to connect. You can either use a FPGA(check out Lattice) or a bridge chip from TI (LVDS-324) to achieve that. Please check with your TI local sales for LVDS-324 information.

  • Hello!

Had you managed then in 2012 to find people familiar with Hynix sensors?

    Thanks,
