According to AM335x Schematic Checklist - if ADC is not used, connect VREFN, VREFP and VDDA_ADC pins to ground.

Yes, this is correct. You should also connect the AIN[7:0] terminals to ground.

You took a caption from the schematic checklist and then restated it. Peeves then confirmed your question.

To be clear:

It is necessary to connect VREFN, VREFP, AINx and VDDA_ADC pins to ground if you do not intend to use the ADCOCK of the AM335x.
