newer 2011 code sourcery toolchain for OMAP-L138 or stick to 2009?

I've been using the 2009 code sourcery toolchain as linked from this page:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:_Installing_the_Software_for_OMAP-L1

https://sourcery.mentor.com/sgpp/lite/arm/portal/release858

but I noticed from this page:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Installing_CodeSourcery_Toolchain

is a newer 2011 toolchain: https://sourcery.mentor.com/sgpp/lite/arm/portal/release1802

And I took a look at it, there is new names for the compiler, etc and new paths... so is it too dangerous to muck with the SDK (4.02, 4.03) setup.sh file etc to use the new tools?
