C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C5515, MSP430F2111

Hi, We are currently starting a new fingerprint scaner project and are very interested in the Texas Instuments TMS320C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit. I have several questions about this FDK that I would like to solve.

1- The FRR and FAR specified (1% and 0.001% respectively) is for the sensors, the hardware, the algorithms or the whole system?

2- In the specifications it is stated that the module can store up to 400 prints. However, in the Windows Program User's Guide (Literature Number: SPRUH46) in Table 1, it is specified a maximum number of 50 prints. Which is the actual maximum for the system?

3- Is it possible to get only the core board and sensors? We are considering developing our own extension board (that will be an application board in future). In this case, could you provide a quotation please?

4- The extension board comes with a TI MSP430F2111. Do you provide the source code for the extension board with the FDK? How do you program this micro (using J5 connector)?

5-In the FDK web site (http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxbdkfp5515) it is specified that the kit includes two firmwares for the core board: Simplified fingerprint authentication algorithm source code and Production quality demo code binary file. Which are the limitations of the quality demo code? Could we purchase a full production quality source code/binary files from Texas Instruments?

6- Finally, I haven't found any document with extra information about the commands that control the core-board. Can you connect the coreboard to an external controller using an UART and implemented commands? In that case, can you provide those comands please?

Thanks very much for the information in advance.
