Can you describe in more detail what you are trying to accomplish with HPI?

The HPI will be used to transfer data between a host CPU and the DSP 6748. there are various data messages that needs to be exchanged between the host and the DSP at run time (after bootup of DSP). currently, we are using internal ethernet switch between the host and DSP, and would like to use the HPI instead.

Sorry, there doesn't seem to be really any HPI documentation that I could locate. I think you will need to roll your own...
