Enabling Camera application on Android ICS (4.0.3).

Dear All

Good Morning!

What i am doing:

i have followed the following links to enable the USB-Camera on "Android ICS 4.0.3" on  "Beagleboard-xm Rev C".

1) http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1_PortingGuides#Camera

2) http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/android/f/509/p/158688/580245.aspx

I have followed  the same process which was suggested in the 2nd link. based on that i am sending the log file attached.

When i click the Camera application on "Launcher", i see the following message "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped."

i have take a log of this also which is in the same log file.

I have done all the changes required suggested in link 1 and 2.

What i want:

I want  to use the camera application and to  see the image on the screen, when the Usb camera is connected to the board.

Type of camera Logitech USB.

I have configured all the drivers of Logitech using " Driver Configuration  " and build the Kernel uImage.

I would be thankful for the guidence to make it work (Camera Application on connecting USB CAMERA).

  • Hello!!

I know it's been a while, but I'm working with the BeagleBoard-xm too, I want to activate an USB camera. Can you explain me how you did that?.

I'm using Android 4.0.3 too, I can compile the kernel and I tried to activate some webcam drivers, but it still doesn't work.

In some of your posts, I read that you gave some permisions to the video, how did you do that, please I' ve  been trying this for a long time with no sucess.

    Thanks for your answer.
